چکیده

Social networks tend to contain some amount of randomness and some amount of non-randomness. The amount of randomness versus non-randomness affects the properties of a social network. In this paper, we theoretically analyze graph randomness and present a framework which provides a series of non-randomness measures at levels of edge, node, and the overall graph. We show that graph nonrandomness can be obtained mathematically from the spectra of the adjacency matrix of the network. We also derive the upper bound and lower bound of non-randomness value of the overall graph. We conduct both theoretical and empirical studies in spectral geometries of social networks and show our proposed non-randomness measures can better characterize and capture graph randomness than previous measures.

Community structure is vital to discover the important structures and potential property of complex networks. In recent years, the increasing quality of local community detection approaches has become a hot spot in the study of complex network due to the advantages of linear time complexity and applicable for large-scale networks. However, there are many shortcomings in these methods such as in...

Detection of Fake Accounts in Social Networks Based on One Class Classification

Detection of fake accounts on social networks is a challenging process. The previous methods in identification of fake accounts have not considered the strength of the users’ communications, hence reducing their efficiency. In this work, we are going to present a detection method based on the users’ similarities considering the network communications of the users. In the first step, similarity ...

Measuring Partial Balance in Signed Networks

Is the enemy of an enemy necessarily a friend, or a friend of a friend a friend? If not, to what extent does this tend to hold? Such questions were formulated in terms of signed (social) networks and necessary and sufficient conditions for a network to be “balanced” were obtained around 1960. Since then the idea that signed networks tend over time to become more balanced has been widely used in...
